In Songo, HCB possesses a housing complex consisting of 605 houses, 26 suites and 231 rooms distributed into several blocks. With the exception of eight houses intended for the Board of Directors, this residential complex is meant to house workers and their families, visitors, and, exceptionally, for use by bodies that directly collaborate in the operation of the dam.
The company’s housing complex is structured into categories so as to respond to the categories of workers in the company:
- Level 1 houses for managers and high level technical staff;
- Level 2 houses for mid-level and specialist technical staff;
- Level 3 houses for other technicians and workers, etc.
Some houses were allocated to other bodies to meet specific accommodation needs of officials in the district government, the health service, the law court, the prosecutor’s office, the INSS, the police force, immigration, customs, MOSEG and other institutions.
