Information Systems

So as to respond to ever increasing requests in this area, computerization is divided between the industrial and the corporate area. In the industrial area and given the specificity of the contents, management is located in the respective business areas, while at the level of corporate computerization; management is centralized in the Information Systems Directorate. The mission of this Directorate involves strategic management of the Organisation at the level of the corporate Information systems, operating as a skilled interlocutor of the various HCB directorates, giving adequate support, and thus making it possible to ensure the interconnection between business and systems, from the viewpoint of containing costs and making the invested capital profitable.

To manage its business procedures, HCB has implemented the SAP integrated management system. This makes it possible, at any moment, to take an instantaneous snapshot of the reality of the company at various levels, namely:

• Investments,
• Accounts to receive
• Accounts to pay
• Purchase procedures
• Company stocks
• Cost control
• Maintenance operations
• Inventory of equipment

In recent years, several projects of re-engineering procedures and introducing new improvements were undertaken with the aim of improving the business procedures and extracting exact information from the company’s information systems.

At the same time, this Directorate is responsible not only for managing the communications between the various locations of HCB, but also for all the surrounding areas that revolve around the information systems and support for the end user.

Aware that there is a lot of room for improvement, the Administration remains involved in defining various projects of a strategic nature for HCB and for its Community, so as to explore and implement new projects that make it possible for HCB to become a pioneer company in this area, with the aim of being considered a national and regional reference point in these matters.
