Álvaro João Duarte Pinto Correia

Degree in Civil Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute, where he taught from 1956/64. From 1958/64 he had technical duties at Sonefe in Portugal and Angola (the Cambambe Dam). In 76/77 he was Secretary of State for Civil Construction, Housing and Town Planning. He was director of the bank, the Caixa Geral de Depósitos and chairperson of the Banco Totta & Açores, Fidelidade, Imoleasing, Fundimo, Imocaixa and Lusofactor. Since July 2000, he has been Chairperson of the Lisbon City Foundation. Since February 2003 he has been Coordinator of the Commission to Negotiate Angola’s Debt. Since March 2007, he has been Coordinator of the project team accompanying the implementation study for the new Lisbon Airport. Since April 2008 he has been non-executive chairperson of Sofid (Development Financing Company, Credit Institution, SA). Commander of the Order of Industrial Merit, and Grande Officer of the Order of the Infante D. Henrique. Since November 2007, he has been a non-executive director of HCB.
