ETAR and Sanitation
Since the 1970s, HCB has possessed a waste water treatment station. This receives from the sanitation system the domestic waste waters, and is the only source of effluent in the town at present which is subject to special care to preserve the environment.

In this station, after several treatment processes such as: aeration, decantation, and sterilisation, with the aim of separating the polluting material, the waste waters are finally drained into the Guto river with a level of pollution that is harmless to the environment, in accordance with the norms in force.
