HCB GRANTS PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS TO THE “FIELD READY” PROGRAM

In the scope of the policy of co-funding the training of national technicians in their area of activity, Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) joined in January 2019, the Field Ready program.

“Field Ready” Mozambique, is an intensive program to assist the employability of Youth, supported by the Mozambican Government, which aims to prepare them to work in the energy Industry, which started in February 2019, in the Industrial and Commercial Institutes of Nampula and Matola. This program includes technical-vocational training oriented to the areas of Hygiene and Safety at Work, Electricity and Instrumentation, Industrial Mechanics and Welding.

In the first edition of the program, which took place from February to October 2019, HCB as a corporate member supported five students, of which two were invited to benefit from a 12-month professional internship. In the second edition of the program, which will run from March to August 2020, at the same institutes, the support will continue to be given to five students.

As a corporate member, HCB has the possibility and priority of direct recruitment of the Company’s supported students. However, the provision of the scholarship is not a commitment or guarantee that the company will employ part or all of its scholarship recipients.
