Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), S.A., recorded until the 3rd quarter of 2020, an energy production of 11,602.31 GWh, corresponding to 2.3% above the planned for the period under review, despite the adverse and severe effects of COVID 19 on the economy and on businesses.
In the period under analysis, the sale of energy was approximately 19 billion Meticais, 1.7% higher than planned. This achievement enables the company to continue implementing its projects for improving operational performance, ensuring full compliance with contracts with employees and clients, honoring commitments with suppliers and shareholders, and paying taxes, charges and dividends in full and on time. It also allows HCB to proceed with corporate social responsibility initiatives.
HCB remains committed to achieving the annual production target of 14,938 GWh given the adverse macroeconomic environment, aggravated by exogenous shocks, including those from the spread of COVID-19.
